Opinions Wanted

We don't have access to "television" and so I don't watch a lot of TV. However, I do go to the gym regularly and I will plug in to the television shows there occasionally. I saw this commercial the other day and about fell off the elliptical. I will post my opinion later...but first I wanted to know what your thoughts were...

I think that they are trying to be in touch with the 'modern' woman, but I think that it is insulting. I also think that just changing the marketing on it, is trying to pull in more users, and that they have had too many problems with this type of medication. Buyer beware.

The first time I saw this commercial I didn't know whether to laugh or pick my jaw up off the floor. It just seems so contradictory... "here is a pill to keep you from getting pregnant, but if you're not good at taking it/don't entirely want to prevent a pregnancy we've got you double-covered with folic acid!"
To put it briefly, I find the commercial itself to be a little condescending... But I guess it all comes down to pharmaceutical companies doing anything to make money.

I can't say I've seen a drug commercial that I really do like... I think this ranks right up there with most ED spots.
Life's choices are not either/or as this seems to indicate.
"if you get pregnant you cannot go to Paris or buy a house..."
Whatever.
Of course, if you like it...

I find the idea of being able to walk around a store and pick out what I want...delightful. If only life worked that way.

Since my history is not one of a woman who gets to choose when or when not to get pregnant, I tend to roll my eyes at most advertising like this.

The commercial doesn't bother me. I do think it is sad that people think they can't do things if they have a children, but if they aren't married and are choosing to be sexual active, at least they are being responsible enough to not bring a baby into that lifestyle. Abstinence is best, but I'm realistic enough to know that the majority of our country doesn't practice that.

Wow, that is really really a scary commercial. Is that really the way our society looks at sexuality? That is terrifying.

Did you notice there are no men in that commercial at all... except for the paper doll ones that she picks out for her sexual partner... like she can choose any of them any time she wants. Ugg. Obviously getting pregnant is a "problem" that only WOMEN should have to worry about. Where is the "equal partner" in that. Where is the True Love if a man only wants her for her ability to sexually arouse and doesn't love her completely... for her amazing ability to give life. That commercial is even directed at married couples (the ones buying a house) which makes me sad.

It is SO sad to see how little our society values life. It makes me ache inside and really scared for the future.
