I am pregnant...I clean...therefore I am nesting

You know I have ALWAYS had issues with the word nesting. During my first pregnancy, I worked at Head Start with a bunch of older, and more experienced, woman. Every time I would clean they would look at me like I was just the cutest little thing that ever happened, click their hen-like tongues (and I say that with complete love), and declare me a nesting mother. It drove me nuts! I am a person and I do tend to clean even when I am not pregnant. And then to pronounce a name upon something that is perfectly natural, like preparing for the birth of a child....like it needs a name. It's called PREPARATION! Like when you get ready to go on a trip. Or when you get ready for a birthday party. How come these don't have specific and pronounced names?

Okay, if I go all crazy and takes the knobs off all my doors so I can disinfect the screws...I will concede this to be nesting. However, I have never done this. So in the meantime, if I just happen to clean my house or pack a hospital bag (which I have not done yet), let's just call it preparation or good old fashioned cleaning. BUT, whatever you do...do not come over to my house and look at me like I'm all cute and doing this cleaning thing that I have never ever done before and it is only occurring because I am pregnant! It will tick me off. And if you are the one to do the ticking and since you are in my house doing the ticking...I cannot be held responsible for the results. You have been fairly warned.

I am with you on that one. When I was pregnant with Brooke I had chose a Saturday to do some spring cleaning and everyone was sure I would have my baby any minute because I was nesting. Nope again people I do spring clean occasionally when I am not pregnant :).

AMEN SISTER!
I'm pretty well motivated by the idea that I could have somebody come at a moments notice to sleep on my couch, feed my kids breakfast in my kitchen, open my fridge, use my bathroom, dress my kids... we're talking a full day of somebody needing to care for my kids in my space.
I don't want to leave that person or people with nothing in the fridge but the spilled stains on the bottom, a sinkload of dirty dishes, and no clean laundry.
It is JUST like preparing for a birthday party, except it includes closets and laundry, too.
Enjoy your "nesting". Mwahahaha
P.S. I haven't packed a hospital bag, either.

I have never heard of NESTING before so you won't hear the comment from me, plus I know you clean all the time so I wouldn't think anything was different.
