Have You Ever Tried This?

Do You Like Rice Krispy Treats?

Have you ever tried substituting Cheerious for the Rice Krispies and then adding some peanut butter? And if you want to get really adventurious add some chocolate chips right before you put it in the pan. MMMMMMM!

I can consume a pan in one day. Mialee says, "Can I have one of those?" I say, "Sure." and promptly give her a little square. Then I have to cut myself a square, to which she replies, "How come yours is so much bigger than mine?" Well, obviously, "Because I am so much bigger than you."

My Wish List for the Day

1. Chewy Runts
2. Dinner to be made...or at least an idea
3. A Twin Sized Bed
4. Sunshine and warmth so I can take my jacket and boots off.
5. The kitchen to be clean, or someone to at least mop the floor (I'm flexible)
6. The monumentuous pile of laundry to suddenly wither away to the nothingness of having all the clothes clean in the house (oh, and if this really happens, it would be nice to have enough space to put all of those clothes)
7. The never-ending head-aches to stop. Enough is enough.
8. A baby-sitter and a maid. Perhaps once a week would be sufficient.
9. That the pile of coupons scattered all over the floor really was a throw-away pile and not a needed to be filed pile, dang-it.
10. A sale on Wheat Thins, come on it's Super Bowl Week is $1.99 really as good as you can do?

Fairy Godmother? Hello? Are you out there? I have a pumpkin and would be willing to acquire mice. Hello? HELLO!

"A Prise For You"

So this all started, really, about a month ago. Jason bought a long awaited KitchenAid (AKA Power tool for the kitchen). With this purchase came a magical and binding contest to see who can use the kitchen power tool the most. Jason is up by one with his latest batch of doughnuts. I took a nap yesterday and woke up to Mialee's idea, "It is a prise (surprise) for you." of making doughnuts. Jason has also made several batches of bread (white, sour dough, omish friendship...), gnochii's, and more. He doesn't think I should be able to count making play dough in the contest because he can't eat it. I politely informed him that it was "edible" playdough and he most certainly could eat it. I think he still feels cheated. Today I am going to make meatballs and I think I will mix them in my KitchenAid and see how it does...thus saving me from gooey hamburger gut hands and putting me in tied position with Jason. Ha ha. I told him that I could totally kick his butt because I am home way more than he is, to which he replied, "Yeah, but then you would have to actually cook." Even though I hung up on him (wink, wink), I must admit he does have a point.

Flashback

Oh, these were the days...6th Grade...Hope of America Award...Thanks Mikey for the memories. I wonder where some of these people are...Mike Morfin? Some of them I know where they are and I still talk to. Ha ha. Too bad Troy never got any taller (he he he).

A Cry-Cry Day

Do you ever forget? Do you ever forget to be positive, to tell your children how much you love them instead of telling them everything they are doing wrong? Do you ever forget how to teach them instead of assuming that they will eventually get it? Do you ever forget to be happy? Do you forget to smile and have fun? Do you ever forget to stop pointing out every argument and every mistake and every mess that has been made? Do you ever forget to stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about how you can make your family better? Do you ever forget to be productive? Seriously, how can I forget that load of laundry that I have now washed 3 times? Do you ever forget to put a diaper on your baby? Do you forget how it feels to not be sick and tired? Or to sleep through a whole night? Do you ever forget how to get out of bed? Or wish that you could? Do you forget?

Oh, so many things to remember...

CROCK POT

So Kayleen mentioned some crazy lady who did crock pot meals for the whole year of 2008 and I thought I would check it out. Turns out, it's a year worth of GLUTEN FREE Crock Pot Recipes! So I thought I would post the link and you can go check it out (Fancy Nancy). Some of them are pretty crazy, but I might just try a few...

Crazy Crock Pot Lady (my interpretation, not hers)

Jason informed me yesterday that no one had posted an article for the Herald Journal this week, so he posted one. If you want to read it click HERE. Just so you know, the employer of choice is Campbells Scientific! Yeah!

Moody Me

It's hard to keep up with this blog with the constant mood swings I am having and honestly when I feel good...I clean (it doesn't last long, cleaning or feeling good). Anyway...

Can I just tell you how much I love corn chips. They are the perfect snack. Salty, mellow, crunchy, low on the sugar, not-make-me-throw-up yummy! I need more.

Oh and Nikell is at that age when it is soooooooooo funny to run away whenever I ask her to do anything. She poops and says, "Pooh pooh." And I say (quite logically), "Okay, let's go change your diaper." Now you must understand that in reality I am thinking, "Oh no not again! I can't do this. This time I will throw up, I just know it." Anyway, so I say, "Let's change your diaper." and that's her que to start running. Ha ha she is hilarious. I chase, we play, I pin her down, she squirms away, and all the while I am gagging and desperately trying not to lose my corn chips. This is not going to work. Have you ever tried to pin an-almost two-year-old down, rip off their pants and diaper without getting poop all over you and the floor, and breath in your shirt the whole time? It's kinda hard. So I give her a little more time to run around the house and spread the horrible poopy smell wherever she can. Then I try again. More running, more wrestling, more gagging. Aaarrgghh. Forget the fact that in the event that Jason is actually home during this time (you know, he works) he will wrap his legs around the chair he is sitting in, grab the handles, and refuse to have anything to do with a poopy diaper. Exageration? Maybe, but ask him how many diapers he has changed in his life. Honestly, though he is quite helpful these days. The man makes bread once a week! How can you beat that? He unloads the dishwasher, takes out the garbage, he even made peanut butter cookies today and plans to make gnochi's (sp?) tomorrow! So, you know, how much can I really bug him about changing the poopy, gaggy, diaper? I need an emergency diaper-changing hot-line. One where you call and when they hear the wretching they know they have exactly 7 seconds to get to my house, change the diaper, fumigate, and restore order. Okay, maybe restoring order is a little too much to ask.

2008

It's funny the things you remember the ones you forget. I never thought I would forget how Sierra acted as a baby and a toddler...but I did. Watching some home videos brought back the little things. A few things about 2008...Nikell learning to walk and me discovering the little square of plastic that had molded to the roof of her mouth (being there for a month) the trauma of attempting to get it out over and over and over and then Jason popping it out after 3 seconds of trying. He is so frustrating that way.

The pure entertainment of Mialee. Although life with her is often difficult, she is also one of the most entertaining kids I have ever met. Her complete joy with a king size candy bar, having to put on all of her new swimming suits at once, enjoying a bubbly sink so much that she just can't resist somehow ending up inside, and the irrisistable urge to join Nikell in the consumption of a cupcake...

Sierra...it's hard to remember that she is 6 and not 12. She is responsible, kind, smart...just an all around people-pleaser. She will sit for an hour or two and let me give her a new hair-do. But make sure she gets enough sleep because that perfect child can turn into a hormonal mess...

Olivia, technically not mine, but as much so as her mothers :). And boy does she keep us hopping! Meggin (her Mom) is due to have another baby here in a few months and I can't wait to see the outcome. I am praying that it will have a calming effect on Oli...eventually. Don't get me wrong, I love the kid and I love her way of seeing life, but she does not understand QUIET.

Girls Camp, the Fourth of July at my Parents, my first backpacking trip...Ahh the memories. It's been a fun year. I have especially enjoyed the renewal of friendships through blogging (my biggest reason for not going private)...friends that I had some fun memories with a long time ago, and now I get to make new ones. Oh, Cindy, I was thinking about Racquetball and jogging! You sure put up with a lot from me. I don't know how you ever hung in there...thanks for your patience.

So now on to a new year...with a new baby on the way. August 3rdish... Any bets on a gender?
