So this all started, really, about a month ago. Jason bought a long awaited KitchenAid (AKA Power tool for the kitchen). With this purchase came a magical and binding contest to see who can use the kitchen power tool the most. Jason is up by one with his latest batch of doughnuts. I took a nap yesterday and woke up to Mialee's idea, "It is a prise (surprise) for you." of making doughnuts. Jason has also made several batches of bread (white, sour dough, omish friendship...), gnochii's, and more. He doesn't think I should be able to count making play dough in the contest because he can't eat it. I politely informed him that it was "edible" playdough and he most certainly could eat it. I think he still feels cheated. Today I am going to make meatballs and I think I will mix them in my KitchenAid and see how it does...thus saving me from gooey hamburger gut hands and putting me in tied position with Jason. Ha ha. I told him that I could totally kick his butt because I am home way more than he is, to which he replied, "Yeah, but then you would have to actually cook." Even though I hung up on him (wink, wink), I must admit he does have a point.

Good luck with your competition! Those donuts look really good, though!
This sounds like a great idea on your part with the competition. He will be cooking lots too. The doughnuts look yummy. Congratualtions on the power tool!
What a great competition! I'd love to see Oby in the kitchen making doughnuts with a 'power tool.' Aw, who am I kidding? If we had a similar competition in our house, Oby would easily take the cake. I loathe cooking and avoid it at all costs! Every once in awhile the desire to bake or cook sneaks up on me, and I relish in it, then - bam! - back to the old 'Why don't we go out tonight?' routine. Poor Oby.
Fun! I love my KitchenAid! I refused to make Dennis any cookies till I had one and, needless to say, I got one about 5 months after we were married! Send me a note if you need anymore ideas, I use it all the time!
Let him stay one up on you forever - I know how competitive he is! You have it made! K used our kitchen aid this morning to make sour dough brown bread. It is soooo yummy, with oats and molasses! Anyone want the original recipe? It was my Mum's -she made it weekly to go with Boston baked beans.
