StAbLe

Meg called this morning and said that Sophie had a few rough spots during the night, but is still doing well. Too much pressure in her little chest, so they tried Albuterol (unoptimistically) and she reacted well to it, bringing her stats up to where they want them. They are still optimistically watching her closely.

And Meg is reacting well to Primary Children's. I will never cease to be amazed by these people. The extra care that they put into the details is often the thing that saves a life and makes parents feel like they are getting the help that they need. Sophie won a bingo game and her prize was a blanket! They have appointments set up for someone to meet with Olivia and explain all the tubes and what Sophie is doing so that it won't be too scary for her. And they are already making plans for decorating when it is time to wake Sophie up.

And yes, Meg and Tim are quite frustrated with the medical system, particularly in Logan. And not only are they frustrated and angered at the outcome, but stressed and overwhelmed at the bills that will come from people who did nothing to help.

All in all though, they are in good spirits. You can imagine the relief of finally having someone believe you and finally knowing that there are capable people helping in what was a very frustrating battle. Thanks for your prayers. Keep 'em coming.

Oops that was not Darrin-that would be Nancy. Darrin would be surprised that he even looked at a blog.

I'm so glad Sophie and Megan are getting the care and peace of mind they deserve! Tell Megan that next time a doctor tells her she overreacted (about anything), to kick that doctor in the head, walk out the door, and go to another doctor who isn't an idiot. Doctors need to realize that DM (doctor mom)'s intuition is much more effective and important than any MD's pricey education and puffed up ego. Grrrrrrrr. Don't mess with THIS DM! Hugs and prayers to Auntie JD, Sophie & megs.

It's so good to hear that Sophie is doing better and I'm glad that Primary Children's is such a great place to go. The next time Matt has to have heart surgery, he'll be sent there.

Glad things are looking so much better!!
