Question #4

What are some of the first things you noticed/fell in love with about your spouse?

For me it was the way he said my name. It was like finding home and peace and safety. It was the way he looked into my eyes and matter-of-factly complimented me (like he was spouting off well-known facts of engineering). It was the way he approached life; with a surety and confidence and a plan the he knew would work because he was the master-mind behind it. It was his cocky swagger and his shocking Micheal Jordan basketball moves. It was his gentleness and his amazing laugh. It was his soft lips (ask his brothers) and his ability to listen. It was simply, and finally, finding all the missing pieces to a puzzle that had been sitting on the table for a long time, putting those pieces together, and finding happiness and love in the finished picture.

I loved Josh's eyes and his fresh RM scent. We wrote letters while he was on his mission (his mom conned me into writing her son) and we first met at the airport when he got home. Knowing he had a stalwart testimony meant a lot to me, having spent a few years surrounded by men with lesser standards than mine.

He makes me laugh everyday, from the day we met. He's smarter than me, but lets me think I'm amazing. He works hard. He makes me a better person and awakens love in my soul. That may be corny, but he strengthens me.

And with his dark South African tan, he looked a bit like The Rock. Mmmm....

Ooooh that's poetic. I think I'll answer this one on my own blog.

You and Jason SO belong together!

I tend to avoid mushy stuff and this is one of those questions that often results in mushy answers.

The very first thing I noticed about Kevin was that he'd served his mission in Russia. Missionaries hadn't been allowed in Russia for very long so that was cool. The first thing I fell in love with about him was his unwillingness to not love me! He wouldn't go away and since I liked him so much, I gave in and fell in love back! I'm glad I didn't let my pride get in the way!
