A guessing game...

In a recent conversation with Nikell we were discussing pencils. She had a bendy pencil and we were talking about how normal pencils don't bend. She said they were like glass and like Daddy's wood. "Do you remember Daddy's wood? When you throw it at fences...it breaks. When you throw it at cars....it breaks. When you throw it at doors...it breaks. When you throw it at carseats...it doesn't break." Any ideas on what this "wood" could be? And were they really throwing it at fences and cars and doors and carseats?
